The Barceló Punta Cana Resort in the Dominican Republic has completed an extensive renovation and enhancement to its public spaces and guest rooms. The renovations included a new second swimming pool, a new children’s pool with water features, and a new spa and theatre facilities. The $14 million dollar renovation raises the level of service at this beachfront all-inclusive property to a Barceló Premium level resort, ensuring a luxury resort experience.

LOCATION

Located directly on a beautiful white sandy beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. 32 km (25 minutes) to the Punta Cana International Airport, 65 km to Higuey, the nearest city and 205 km de Santo Domingo, capital of the country.

ACCOMMODATION

The resort’s premium guest rooms in the Deluxe Category have all been renovated with new soft goods and plush bedding. Most of these guestrooms have ocean views and feature contemporary Caribbean decor with tropical colours, resort furnishings and spa-style bathrooms with walk-in showers and freestanding fixtures. In addition, guest rooms have been be fitted with flat screen TVs. Wireless internet is available in all areas of the hotel including all guest rooms and can be accessed for a nominal charge. In addition, each guest room has an oversized safety deposit box that is large enough to accommodate a lap top computer.

DINING & ENTERTAINMENT

The resort offers seven restaurants including a new Tex Mex restaurant, El Mirador. It is a beach front restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and is adjacent to the new swimming pool area. El Mirador offers lunch and dinner dining for all inclusive guests, plus an additional a la carte menu which can be added at an additional cost. The resort’s theatre has been rebuilt in a new location to serve as a multi-purpose venue for entertainment, as well as group meetings and events. The new theatre location creates a soundproof barrier between the theatre and the guestrooms. Accessibility at the resort has also been improved with the addition of access ramps throughout the resort including the restaurants and new theatre.
